So, I just heard some modern-crap song on the radio and wondered what happened to true musicianship-----Deep Purple, Chicago (B.C.---before Cetera), James Brown’s JBs band----then I came across this in my UA-cam recommendations. BAM! Fat horn sound. Fat strings. Fat keyboards. All sounding so effortless, I wouldn’t be surprised to discover that they whipped this up in the studio in 30 minutes just playing around between recording sessions. Sounds like a straight-up jam session.

Tony Christie great singer and song Las Vegas first time I've heard it instant classic. Where has this been since 1971. I was 5 years old then never heard it on the radio.

Brings back memories of my mom dancing in our kitchen RIP. She was so ahead of her time in every way.

Who was the pianist, there's some fab little bits and bobs in there? I love the way when Aretha enters with the first verse the song goes up about 100 degrees in temperature, the pitch and phrasing is just beyond what anyone else could do. I found the 45 rp single in a charity shop and was blown away when I first put it on, I had no idea what a treasure I'd found.

I had this on record when i was a young kid and played it on my music maker record player. loved it.

Brilliant song. The drums and guitar riff, plus the loop background vocal. I was 10 or 11 when this was on the radio.

There is a rare long version on white label I'm trying to borrow from a friend. I've looked here and discogs but searching those doesn't turn up any positive results. Shall persist...
